Introduction to Making Horse Hair Jewelry
Fee per student: $20.00
Maximum students per class: 8
Class Duration: 1 hour and 30 min
Pictured to the left are samples of the keychains we'll be making in class.
You have the choice of braiding 3 different types of braids for your keychain:
4 Strand Round Braid (Similar to picture # 1)
Square Braid (Picture #2)
Fishtail (Picture #3)
You can decide if you want a keychain with a straight braid like pic # 1, 2 or 3
OR you can loop your braid to create a teardrop keychain like pic # 4
You are welcome to bring hair from your own horse. If you don't have horses I supply a few different colors of horse hair.
I supply all the materials you will need to complete the keychains but if you have a charm you wish to add you can bring those and I'll help you attach them to the keychain.
PRECAUTION: I use epoxy glue to secure the hair into the end cap and the beads to the hair. This has a very strong smell. So if you have sensitivities to odor I can glue everything for you later and mail it to you when it's dry. This will of course require a shipping charge.
Introduction to Stained Glass
Fee per student: $40.00
Maximum students per class: 4
Class Duration: 2 hours
In this class I go over how stained glass panels are made (not how the glass itself is made) and the tools required to make stained glass panels
We will only have time to make small air plant holders that are made up of one piece of glass. (Picture coming soon)
To make the air plant holder, you trace out and cut the glass yourself, apply copper foil to the edges of the glass and solder over the copper foil. You will also learn how to solder copper wire to the air plant holder.
The picture to the right is an air plant holder that takes about 5 hours to make so unfortunately we can't make anything that is too involved.
PRECAUTION:
The solder we will be working with contains lead. I will provide nitrile gloves to all participants so no one needs to touch the solder. I encourage you to bring N95 masks if you have them for when we are soldering. The flux gives off hazardous fumes when burning. We will be soldering in a well ventilated area with a chemical extractor fans next to our project to minimize exposure to the fumes. If you do not want to be exposed to this, I can take your project home and finish soldering it and mail it to your house. However, I will need to charge for shipping and my time to complete the piece.
Also, please bring your own safety goggles if you have them. I will have a supply but it is best to use your own if you have them.

Introduction to Painting with Watercolors
Fee per student: $30.00
Maximum students per class: 6
Class Duration: 1 hour
You may bring any supplies you have from home. I will supply watercolors, brushes, paper and cups if you do not have your own supplies.
I will go over the ideal watercolor paints and paper to have and why that's important.
We will be painting a simple sunset and learn how to paint things out of focus, things in focus, blending and mixing colors.
I will also cover different techniques of painting with watercolors to get different affects.
Introduction to Pine Needle Basketry
Fee per student: $40.00
Maximum students per class: 6
Class Duration: 3 hours
I will supply all the materials you'll need.
I will go over all the materials, how you use them and you will make your very own small pine needle basket to take home.
We will be using a very basic stitch to start you with. We are not going to worry about adding beads or anything fancy. We're just going to create very small, simple baskets.

Painting Ceramics with Alcohol Inks
Fee per student: $40.00
Maximum students per class: 6
Class Duration: 1 hour
PRECAUTIONS:
If you are sensitive to odors, I discourage you from taking this class. The rubbing alcohol smell can get a bit intense. We will do our best with ventilation and airflow but you will still smell the isopropyl alcohol.
